HELP ON SPECIFYING A MEZZANINE FLOOR

Specifying a mezzanine floor can be a daunting task so at Euromech we make it easy. Our Mezzanine Flooring experts are on hand to assist you through the process or to answer any general questions you might have.

Some Frequently Asked Questions about Mezzanine floors:

WHAT IS THE STANDARD HEIGHT AND SIZE OF A FLOOR?
There are no size, shape or height restrictions, and all of Euromech’s mezzanine floors can be supplied with multiple tiers if required. Euromech mezzanine floors are customised to suit the specific end-user/site requirements.

WHAT WEIGHT CAN THE FLOOR HOLD?
Your Mezzanine Floor will be designed to your own requirements. The floor structure will be calculated to ensure safe working loads for its intended use.

CAN EUROMECH ALSO ARRANGE THE INSTALLATION OF STAIRWAYS AND OTHER ADD-ONS?
Yes. Typical additional access flooring requirements include: stairways, handrails, pallet gates, cat ladders and wear / chequer plates.

HOW QUICKLY CAN A MEZZANINE FLOOR BE INSTALLED?
Often very quickly! On occasions we have installed a new mezzanine within two weeks of an enquiry.

WILL THERE BE ANY DISRUPTION DURING INSTALLATION?
As little as possible. Euromech has over 25 years experience in constructing mezzanine floors in occupied buildings. We also appreciate that sometimes we cannot always have the luxury of a clear site.

DO I NEED TO ARRANGE FOR OTHER TRADES TO BE ON SITE?
Your mezzanine floor may need electrics, lighting and possibly fire proofing. We can install all this and carry out any partitioning work required. Please ask for details of our complete Turnkey Service.

DO I NEED PLANNING PERMISSION FOR A MEZZANINE FLOOR?
Mezzanine floors are normally regarded as an internal fit-out, and therefore do not require planning permission.

Planning permission is required however if there is a change in use of the building (e.g. from warehouse to crèche), or if the outer aspect of the building has been altered (e.g. the installation of new windows).

DO I NEED LANDLORD APPROVAL FOR A MEZZANINE?
Most landlords will require you to inform them of the work you intend to carry out and will almost certainly request that it is undertaken in accordance with Building Regulations.

All Euromech mezzanine floors conform to parts B, K and M of the Building Regulations 2000.

HOW CAN I BEST PREPARE FOR THE ARRIVAL OF THE EUROMECH MEZZANINE INSTALLATION TEAM?
Provide clear and unrestricted access to the area along with utilities and services.
